This is a development kit version of the polygon reducing Vizup program.
Vizup SDK in this version, is available on monthly subscription. This tool helps reduce number of polygons used in creating a 3D model. It might look a little strange that after you have created a nice, realistic model, you want to reduce the number of polygons used in it. Models with a large number of polygons need recalculation of all those polygon vertices to create slightly different view. This recalculation needs to be done in real-time, if you want to create the illusion of real-time movement of the object. Virtual reality and games are areas where you need this capability. Usually the trade off is that, as the polygons are reduced, the visual quality may deteriorate. That’s where this tool comes in. It can reduce the polygons down to 1%, yet the visual look remains good.
The tool is able to handle models using up to 1 billion polygons. When you are developing an application using this tool, you can simply use the straightforward C++ API. The software is built with scalable architecture with 64 bit support. With this tool, developers of 3D modeling, CAD/CAM, GIS and other computer graphics software will be able to decrease model size. That would help improve 3D rendering performance. Callbacks are available that provide you with progress details of a given decimation job. There is a sample application provided which illustrate the integration process. The interface is well documented. This is a very good product. If you are looking for a similar solution, you should try it in your exact workflow.
